No shaft, so no red. The cherry-red lining is the signature inside every Fabbruccio boot. Amber is an open mule, and there is nothing to line. The footbed is black leather, marked inside.

Materials
Full-grain leather across the vamp, the top layer of the hide, uncorrected and uncoated. Black leather footbed with the house mark stamped into it. Solid brass studs through the vamp and along the platform edge.
Construction
Super lightweight construction. Rubber tread across the base of the wedge. Not Goodyear-welted; that is Florence, and only Florence.
Heel and silhouette
Six inch wedge, cut in one piece and tapering from the platform under the toe to the full height at the back. Open toe. No back and no shaft: it is a mule, so you step in and out of it.
Care and repair
Wipe with a damp cloth and condition the leather now and then. The collection is built to be repaired: when the tread across the base wears, any quality cobbler can replace it.
The shape

It is a mule, not a boot.

Amber is the one open shoe in the collection. An open toe, a single panel of full-grain leather across the vamp, no back and no shaft. You step in and out of it. Everything else Fabbruccio makes closes around the foot; this one does not, and the listing says so before you get to the photographs.

The inside

Black, not red.

Every Fabbruccio boot is lined edge to edge in cherry-red soft leather. Amber has no shaft to line, so it is not. What is there instead is a black leather footbed with the house mark stamped into it, and solid brass studs set through the vamp.

The wedge

Six inches, cut in one piece.

The wedge runs from the platform under the toe to the full six inches at the back, tapering the whole way, with a rubber tread across the base. It is a lot of shoe for the weight: super lightweight construction, the same as the rest of the collection. When the tread wears, a cobbler replaces it.

A 6 inch wedge, worn as a mule. Open at the toe and open at the back, which is the whole shoe in one line.
